Creation of Local Tree Nurseries
In order to ensure the monitoring and development of reforestation, we create a nursery in each of the planting sites and train local people to manage it. Through local authorities and schools, we are developing a program to raise public awareness of environmental protection. To achieve these objectives, all our members are committed to working on a voluntary basis to ensure that all funds entrusted to us are used directly and fully for the management of our nurseries and tree planting.
On the other hand, we pay the tree nurserymen and tree planting workers a salary and thus contribute to improving the life of the people living in the reforestation areas.
Compensate your carbon emissions
Carbon offsetting is ensured by planting trees in large-scale projects whose nurseries and plantations are managed by Early Action. We work in partnership with local communities to secure, protect and even restore primary forests.
Raising awareness of the people
By training tree nurserymen and raising awareness in schools and villages of the need to preserve the environment. By creating unifying projects in isolated regions. By integrating women into the labour market in order to combat exclusion.
Economical benefits to Communities
We employ FTEs on site and daily collaborators (mainly our local volunteers). By planting cash crops in a sustainable way (fruit trees, essential oils, building materials). Biodiversity also enhances the country’s tourist attractiveness.
Agriculture and Horticulture are vital sciences as they suffice the very basic need of food for the Human beings. Qualitative and quantitative food can essentially be produced from healthy plants which in turn are produced only when their seedlings/sapplings are vigorous and healthy. Nursery is consequently the basic need of horticulture. Plant propagation techniques and practices is the core of horticulture nurseries. The planting materials for horticultural plantations are raised from seeds and vegetative parts.
Role of Mother Plants is very primary and important. The fate of nursery depends on quality and truthfulness of mother plants. A good nursery entrepreneur does not depend on others for procurement of mother plants. Mother plants are required for both stock and scion. Mother plants should be selected on the basis of its genetic traits and other factors like availability and adaptation in the growing environment.
Seedling production is one of the key steps in scaling up or domestication of any species. Each step has to be properly planned and implemented. The way seedlings are handled and managed in a nursery contributes to their survival rate after planting and their subsequent growth performance. Improving seedling quality correlates positively to their survival, growth and productivity. Seedling quality is governed by the genetic make-up of the parent trees and the physical growth of the seedlings. Several types of nurseries exist: individual or private, community or group, central or research, commercial and training nursery.
